General information

The course in Paediatric Dentistry is held throughout the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year. Subjects of the course: history, examination and treatment planning in children; to gain information about dental care at particular stage of odontogenesis; preventive and therapeutic procedures in dental caries; oral health promotion and education; pulp and periapical diseases in developmental ages; traumatic injuries of milk and permanent teeth; assessment of dental developmental abnormalities; diseases of mucosal membrane and periodontium in childhood and adolescence; oral manifestations of systemic diseases in children; dental care of medically compromised children, method of pain and anxiety control (behaviour management, local analgesia, sedation) in paediatric dentistry; prophylaxis of non-carious loss of dental hard tissues in children and adolescents.
